Olivier Hermine nominated at the French Académie des Sciences
On 5 December 2017, the plenary assembly of the French Académie des Sciences elected eighteen new members, including Olivier Hermine, CALYM researcher, in the division of Chemical, Biological and Medical Sciences and their applications and the section of Human Biology and Medical Sciences.
Olivier Hermine is Professor in hematology in the Paris-Descartes University, head of the hematological department at the Necker-Enfant maladies hospital, a LYSA member and leader of the CALYM team “Molecular Mechanisms of Hematologic Disorders and Therapeutic Implications” at the Imagine institute Inserm U 116 CNRS ERL 8654. He is also coordinator of the Reference center of mastocytosis (CeRemast).
His research interests include lymphoproliferation linked to hepatitis C virus, mantle cell lymphomas and regulation of erythropoiesis. He is co-founder and member of the scientific committees of biotech companies: AB Science for the development of tyrosine kinase inhibitors and Inatherys for the development of monoclonal antibodies.
